In business we know the demands a technologically
advanced global economy places on maintaining a competitive environment. We
also know the ability to adapt to this evolving environment depends
heavily on the workforce’s willingness and ability to accept
change and learn new processes and techniques. Unfortunately,
it is easy for individuals to become complacent and resistant
to change and to avoid the challenge of learning later in life. This
complacency and resistance also has an impact on the skill and
diversity of the workforce and translates into a competitive
